CHRIST CHAPEL STATEMENT OF FAITH

WE BELIEVE the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments to be the verbally inspired Word of God, completely inerrant in the original writings, having supreme and final authority in faith and life.

WE BELIEVE the Godhead eternally exists in three Persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and these three are one God, having all the same nature, attributes and perfection, and this triune God created all, upholds all and governs all.

WE BELIEVE man, both male and female, was created in the image of God; that he sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death, but also that spiritual death which is separation from God. All human beings are born with that sinful nature and are in need of God’s saving grace.

WE BELIEVE the eternal Son of God became incarnate to reveal God to men and reconcile men to God. Through His life, death, and resurrection, atonement was made for sin and redemption was provided for all mankind.

WE BELIEVE salvation is received by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and those who trust in Him as Lord and Savior are born again, receiving forgiveness and passing from spiritual death to eternal life.

WE BELIEVE the Holy Spirit draws people to Christ and, as Comforter and Guide, He indwells all who receive Jesus Christ as personal Savior and leads them into all truth.

WE BELIEVE the Church is composed of all who have been born again, and that, by the Holy Spirit, these have been baptized into one body and given spiritual gifts and power necessary for her work and growth.

WE BELIEVE , under the Lordship of Christ, we are called to holy living in obedience to the Word of God.

WE BELIEVE in the imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ for His Church, the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, the earthly reign of Christ in righteousness, and the establishment of God’s eternal kingdom.
